Preparation of books towards capacity building of Architects

In order to build the capacity of architects, engineers and masons in the technicalities involved in construction of a house / building in seismic areas, it was decided to initiate a project on preparation of three books through IIT – Madras. The title of the three books are as shown below:

  Book 1 : Confined Masonry House 
  Book 2 : Earthqauke Behaviour of buildings 
  Book 3 : Earthquake Protection of Non-Structural Elements 
The books have been prepared through IIT-Madras with the support of academic colleagues, professional engineers and architects and students across the country. The techniques have been illustrated by simple to understand graphics in the books itself.
